"Audits 2.0" is a course tailored for community association managers who want to refine their practices and strengthen their collaboration with external auditors. Participants will learn the essential principles, best practices, and strategies to ensure financial transparency and accountability within your association portfolios. Additionally, the course emphasizes effective communication and collaboration with auditors, helping managers navigate the audit process smoothly and proactively address concerns.

Key topics include how to:

  • prepare for an audit,
  • foster a productive relationship with auditors,
  • manage audit timelines and expectations, and
  • understand audit reports.

Designed for community association managers, this course will equip you with the skills necessary to maintain the financial integrity of your association and effectively communicate audit findings to boards and residents.

This course is approved by Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification

Presenters:

Lori Maust, CPA

Lori has more than 23 years of experience in public accounting, including thirteen years of audit and tax experience in the condominium and homeowner's association industry. Her additional audit experience includes managing audits of small to medium sized privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations. Lori also spent two years as an Associate at a forensic accounting firm assisting with a wide variety of client engagements such as conducting fraud risk assessments, analyzing companies' books and records, asset tracing, and preparing data and exhibits for complex financial cases.

Lori holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Washington University and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1999. She worked at The Boeing Company as a cost accountant prior to becoming a CPA.
