Developing Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging
Developing a culture of belonging is an intentional practice. But where and how to start?
Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging involves every aspect of an organization.
It takes a clear understanding how your choices—the language you use, the images that represent you, the values expressed in your daily interactions—are experienced by others. During this session we’ll unpack some of the patterns and habits that hold organizations back.
Learn more about potential barriers, and how to bring people in without shutting others out.
Discussion includes the fundamentals of Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging. It’s designed to provide business leaders with resources, practical tips, and a framework for moving forward. We’ll also talk about ways to introduce change, pitfalls to avoid, and strategies to bring others along on the journey. Even for attendees who aren't actively involved in the day-to-day efforts, this session can spark questions to consider when leading those who are.
Attendees will have / be able to:
- Understand where to focus energy and avoid burnout or overwhelm
- Identify (and unwind) common themes that cause these initiatives to sputter out or fail
- Strategies to safely introduce incremental change and evaluate results
- Things they can start (and stop) doing right now
This course is approved by Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification.
