David Schmidt has worked for Fischer Restoration for 12 years as a technician and project manager in mitigating water damage for commercial and residential losses. David has an extensive background in mitigating losses in community associations. He resides in Edmonds with his wife and 3 daughters.
David Hossfeld currently serves at the Vice President for SageWater. Throughout his 25-years’ experience in his career, David has spent a considerable amount of time presenting and educating the multifamily industry on subjects that have both an economic and social impact on their property values and well-being. David has presented more than 150 seminars throughout his career. His in-depth knowledge and experience in the industry has fostered a positive impact on the company.
Amy S. Clements, ARM, CIRMS, is the Marketing Manager at Community Association Underwriters (CAU) and has been in the insurance industry since 1991. She has specialized in community association insurance since 2005 and involved with WSCAI since that time. Amy earned the Community Insurance & Risk Management Specialist (CIRMS) designation in 2008. In addition to participating in many speaking opportunities with the WSCAI, Amy is serving as President-Elect of the 2020 Board of Directors, a past co-chair on the Education Committee, served on the Business Partners Committee and Legislative Action Committee and is a current member of the Communications Committee. In her spare time, Amy enjoys traveling, wine tasting and playing golf with her husband.
Denise Dana, RS, is a Principal of Reserve Consultants LLC, a consulting firm working with community associations providing reserve contribution recommendations, building inspections, repair specifications and project oversight. She is also a registered architect, licensed in the State of Washington with over twenty years of experience in architecture, and became a LEED accredited professional in 2003. Denise is also a credentialed Reserve Specialist, completing reserve studies and capital expenditure reports since 2008. In 2011 she was recognized as a “Reserve Specialist” by the Community Associations Institute.
Valerie Oman, Esq., is a partner at Condominium Law Group, where she has practiced since 2009. She represents community associations on assessment recovery, general counsel, and governance issues. Valerie is passionate about providing high quality, practical legal services and solutions to her clients. Valerie grew up in the Pacific Northwest, is an avid Seahawks fan, and speaks four languages with varying degrees of fluency. She loves spending time with her daughter, family, and friends as well as her dog, Dot and kittens Shadow and Stormy. She can often be found hosting parties, reading, or planning her next travel adventure. An active volunteer with WSCAI, Valerie is a speaker at industry events, management seminars, and community associations, contributes regularly to industry periodicals, and has presented at CAI’s National Law Seminar.
Theresa Torgesen, Esq., is an experienced attorney who has been serving condominium and homeowner associations as general counsel since 2007. She is passionate about community association education and advocacy. Theresa served on the Washington Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) Drafting Committee for seven years and was the Co-Chair of the CAI Washington State Legislative Action Committee (LAC) when WUCIOA was enacted. She is a frequent presenter of educational seminars for attorneys, association managers, and board members at the state and national level.
Michael D. Brandt is currently the CAI-LAC Covid-19 Co-Chair and has been an active member of the Legislative Action Committee for the last thirteen (13) years, where he has worked on providing direction to Governor Inslee that resulted in the current COVID-19 community association-related Proclamation 20-51. He also facilitates the Attorney Advisory committee to the WSCAI-LAC. He is a past two term Director of the WSCAI Chapter Board and a former three year Co-Chair of the Legislative Action Committee. Michael is the principal of Brandt Law Group, a Seattle law firm that provides legal services to condominium and homeowner associations, their officers, directors, and individual members, as well as to the owners of single family residential properties and commercial properties. Michael has been practicing real estate law for 28 years in Seattle and lives in Snoqualmie, Washington, where he is a member of the Snoqualmie Ridge HOA.
Greg Floyd, CIRMS, is an experienced commercial insurance broker who specializes in insurance and risk management for Condominiums and Homeowners Associations. Greg is practice leader for the Condominium specialist department at HUB International domiciled in Bothell WA. The practice, in whole, represents the insurance and risk management interests for over 700 community associations in WA State and has a dedicated staff of 14 people committed to space. Greg has been in the industry with a niche focus on Community Association’s for 12 years and currently sits on 2 committees for WSCAI and holds his CIRMS (Community Insurance Risk Management Specialist) designation achieved through the national CAI organization.
Greg Coxey, Esq. is a partner with Vial Fotheringham LLP (VF-Law) specializing in Community Association law, general counsel, general litigation, and real estate law. Greg’s years of legal expertise ranges from drafting and amending association governing documents to litigation involving construction defect issues, collections, enforcement, and injunctive relief. As a Community Association lawyer, he maintains constant communication with his clients and prides himself on his ability to give individual attention to each one. Greg has spoken at multiple Community Association trade shows and events, participated in legal forums, and has experience leading CLE seminars. He is also an instructor for Lorman®. Greg is licensed in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah.
Duncan Kirk, CIC, CIRMS, is a Senior Vice President at HUB International, one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the world. As an agent and consultant, he provides insurance and risk management solutions for condominium and homeowner association clients working with a team of industry specialists that handle several hundred association clients in Washington State and beyond. Duncan is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Community Insurance Risk Management Specialists (CIRMS). He is a past president of the Washington State chapter of Community Association’s Institute (WSCAI) and is active within industry circles.
Duncan lives in a townhome condominium unit where he served as the association’s president for ten years. He owns a second condominium in California and has purchased another condominium currently under construction in Ruston, WA. Outside of work, Duncan is an avid pilot, aviation enthusiast, traveler, photographer, sports fan, and writer.
Dean Martin, Esq., is a Partner at Barker Martin, P.S. Throughout his legal career, Dean’s practice has focused on construction defect litigation. In 1993, Dean started devoting substantially all of his practice to condominium and multi-family residential defect cases. That practice has included successfully prosecuting claims directly against developers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers and their respective insurance companies. Dean has always assisted his construction defect clients with their day to day general counsel issues. In recent years, this area of his practice has expanded greatly. Outside the office, Dean is an avid fly fisher and golfer and is the proud father of two.
Anthony Young, is with RW Anderson Services. He works alongside an amazing team and helps with insurance claims as the Insurance Repair Manager. Anthony has been in the industry since 2001 and enjoys helping association managers solve problems and assist their owners put their lives back together. When he is not helping others restore their property, he can be found enjoying the outdoors, concerts, and relaxing with his family.
