Richard A. Davis III, Esq., is a graduate cum laude of Indiana University School of Law where he served as Managing Editor for Indiana Law Journal. Richard began his legal career at a large Seattle law firm in the litigation department before moving to Bellingham in 1993 to join Chmelik Sitkin & Davis P.S. Since that time, Richard has represented a wide variety of homeowners’ associations, condominiums and camping associations. He frequently attends association board meetings and provides advice to community association boards and managers on governing document issues, construction, budget and assessments, collections, labor and employment and governing document enforcement. He gives trainings on sexual harassment, the proper roles of directors and senior management, and governing document enforcement. Richard is a member of the Community Associations Institute and has contributed articles and been a speaker at CAI events, including CAI’s national Law Seminar. He has been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and has successfully litigated cases at the superior court and the appellate court level in Washington.
