In 1984, Marshall Johnson, PCAM, accepted a job as a Facility Manager and embarked on a (thus far) 34 year career in the community association management industry. From those early heady days of pulling weeds, Marshall has assumed virtually every role the industry has to offer, including community management, maintenance, construction management, development and reserve consulting, and management operations. In the mid-90s Marshall formed CWD Group, a multidisciplinary management company providing financial, community, and construction management, maintenance and engineering services, and consulting services to nearly 200 communities. Marshall has consulted on over 100 new construction and conversion development projects, is a member of CAI’s National Faculty teaching nation-wide on a wide variety of topics, and is a recognized expert witness in the fields of high-rise management, budgeting, and cost allocation. Marshall is a journeyman framer, furniture maker, shipwright, and considers Excel to be the world’s greatest video game.
